Finding open access through google scholar

Google scholar can be a very good tool to capture a wide range of literature associated through keyword search, but it's frustrating to arrive at high-priced literature under a digital lock for which you don't have a key. This is most often the case with the entry that appears on the google scholar results page. But try clicking on 'all versions' - given the larger number of articles being deposited in open access, there's a chance the free version is in that list.

GOAL search prototype

Our goal is to create a search engine that can find open access content easily worldwide, from OA journals and repositories to open learning content and e-books. As a prototype, we created a google custom search. Give it a try, and If you have suggestions let us know!
